Forerunners Experience the Simulated Society

The 2019-20 class of Forerunners, a leadership program for Tuscaloosa area youth, completed SIMSOC, a simulated society program designed to teach various aspects of sociology, political science, and communication skills. Participants deal with issues such as economic inequality, justice, diversity, trust, and power dynamics.
The objective of Forerunners is to help meet the community's need for informed, responsible, and effective leadership, and the class is made up of 11th grade students from across West Alabama, who are selected through an application and interview process conducted by Leadership Tuscaloosa alumni.

Following nine months of leadership development, the Forerunners class will graduate in May 2020.
