Frequently Asked Questions

How can I help with this event?

First, spread the word about E-Cycling Day. Second, drop off some old equipment at the event. Companies or organizations wishing to help staff E-Cycling Day should contact the Chamber of Commerce.

What will this cost me?

There will be no charge for dropping off less than 10 computers (or the rough equivalent).

May I drop off a lot of equipment?

Anyone planning to drop off a large amount of equipment (the equivalent of 10 computers or more) MUST contact the Chamber of Commerce ahead of time. Monetary donations from individuals, organizations or businesses dropping off a large amount of equipment are encouraged.

What kinds of equipment may I drop off?

Only equipment appearing on the Accepted Items list will be accepted. TV's will be accepted (only 2 per household) on the August 28 event.

What about any data that's on any equipment I plan to drop off?

The Chamber of Commerce assumes no responsibility for the safety or confidentiality of any data stored on any equipment that is collected. We recommend you take adequate precautions to secure any such information before dropping off any equipment.

What if it rains?

E-Cycling Day will take place at the announced date and time, rain or shine.

Monetary donations to help defray expenses are welcomed. Monetary donations from individuals, organizations and businesses dropping off large amounts of equipment are encouraged. The Chamber, City of Tuscaloosa, City of Northport and its sponsors assume no responsibility for any data left in the memory and/or storage system of any and all equipment collected at the event.
